After a rough start to the new year, Crete is now recovering from the many challenges of the weather gods. For the past few days, the gods have been spoiling us with pleasant temperatures and sunny skies, although we are repeatedly reminded of the nature`s disturbances which, unfortunately, resulted in minor setbacks around the island.
Gladly, everything is back to normal, the city of Chania is pulsating and the sturdy locals are carrying on with their daily business. As for now, here in Agia Marina and Platanias, rental cars have been replaced by larger vehicles loaded with olive oil barrels, livestock and firewood. Only a few stores, cafes and restaurants are open in the area, which automatically turn into common gathering places among the locals. If you head down to the beach, you might spot a runner or maybe even an all-year-swimmer, although you are more likely to have the whole beach to yourself.
In the meantime, we are getting inspiration for the upcoming season, and we have a great deal of surprises coming up for you this summer. We are also very happy to say that we are visiting Stockholm again this year to present Oscar Suites & Village at Grekland Panorama Exhibition. This year`s exhibition will take place at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden 14th and 15th of February and we hope to see as many of our friends there as possible.
Until next time, we hope that winter is treating you well. Besides, what good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?
