Cretan customs and traditions: A tribute by Oscar Suites & Village

Crete’s major urban centers, like Chania, are quite cosmopolitan, vibrant and contemporary in terms of look and feel (though the pace of life here is still more relaxed and humane in comparison to most cities in the Western world). December 17, 2019
Men dressed like Santa Claus preparing for the Santa run in Chania, Crete.

It has been yet another great season for all of us at the Oscar Suites & Village Hotel in Platanias Chania. Once again we met with old, treasured friends and made new, exciting acquaintances. We swam in crystal clear waters and built castles in the golden sands of the famous, adjacent Agia Marina -Platanias beach. We took care of our bikini bodies at the gym; but also wolfed down amazing food and drinks at Valentino Pasta & Grill, our restaurant in Oscar Suites & Village Hotel in Platanias Chania.

Yet it does proffer an amazing, magical (and somewhat unconventional ) “Christmassy” experience. For new customs and old traditions seamlessly blend during Christmas in Chania. This is what makes a world of difference and we can not help but feel excited and super eager to join the festivities.
